- Encryption 256 Bit AES, CTR Mode with 4 key policies
- Simultaneous record and transmit feature for models sold outside the USA.
This unique plug-on transmitter design will ideally match any microphone or line level source via a standard XLR connector. The DPR-A can tune in 100 kHz or 25 kHz steps across the UHF television band, with a selectable output power of 10, 25 or 50 mW. The purely digital architecture utilizes AES 256-CTR encryption for high level security applications. The external antenna provides exceptional operating range.
The transmitter is specially designed with high efficiency digital circuitry for extended operating time on two AA batteries, with status indicated by a multi-color LED. An IR (infrared) port is included to simplify setup with IR enabled receivers. Updates can be made via SD card.
The input amplifier uses an ultra low noise op-amp for quiet operation. It is gain controlled with a wide range, dual envelope limiter, providing over 30 dB of headroom above full modulation. A 24-bit A-D converter digitizes the audio, then filters out supersonic noise above 21 kHz.

Firmware updates are now available for users outside the United States to enable simultaneous recording and transmitting in non-U.S. models. Only the DPR(-A)/E01 and DPR-A/E09 models are eligible for this update.
If you are located outside of the United States or Canada, and your transmitter’s model number does not include /E01, or /E09, please email service.repair@lectrosonics.com or call 505-892-4501 for more details.
Users with existing units in Canada will be required to send their units, at their own expense, to the Lectrosonics Factory for the upgrade. To arrange for this, please email service.repair@lectrosonics.com or call 505-892-4501 for more details.
Below are links to the current firmware versions for the DPr and DPr-A digital transmitters.
These are zip files: after downloading extract them into a temporary folder. Each contains 3 files, one for the microcontroller, one for the FPGA and one bootloader file. Follow the instructions in the DPr Instruction Manual to update firmware. If you have any questions or encounter problems while updating the firmware please contact the factory for assistance.
How do I decide which firmware version is right for my transmitter?
If you have an DPR or DPR-A transmitter:
Note that simultaneous record and transmit is not available for users in the United States. If you have an DPR or DPR-A and are located outside the United States, please contact the factory for assistance.
- If you have DPR version 1.xx FPGA firmware, use only DPR version 1.xx firmware, version 1.xx FPGA firmware, and boot loader version 3. These are bundled into a single file for download: dpr_m114_f102_b3.zip.
- If you have DPR version 2.xx FPGA firmware, use only DPR version 1.xx firmware, version 2.xx FPGA firmware, and boot loader version 3. These are bundled into a single file for download: dpr_m115_f201_b3.zip.
If you have an DPR/E01 or DPR-A/E01 transmitter:
- If you have DPR version 1.xx FPGA firmware, use only DPR/E01 version 1.xx firmware, version 1.xx FPGA firmware, and boot loader version 3. These are bundled into a single file for download: dpr_e01_m114_f102_b3.zip.
- If you have DPR version 2.xx FPGA firmware, use only DPR/E01 version 1.xx firmware, version 2.xx FPGA firmware, and boot loader version 3. These are bundled into a single file for download: dpr_e01_m115_f201_b3.zip.
If you have an DPR/E09 or DPR-A/E09 transmitter:
- If you have DPR version 2.xx FPGA firmware, use only DPR/E09 version 1.xx firmware, version 2.xx FPGA firmware, and boot loader version 3. These are bundled into a single file for download: dpr_e09_m115_f201_b3.zip.
The FPGA firmware version is displayed in the “About” page in the “Settings” menu.
Firmware download files include a bootloader file. You don’t need to install this if your installed bootloader is the current version. The bootloader version is displayed when you enter firmware update mode. To do this, press and hold the UP and DOWN arrow buttons, then press the power button to turn the transmitter on. The bootloader version appears at the top of the screen, for example “DPrBoot3”.
