The DCHT portable digital stereo transmitter is designed for use in film and TV production as both a wireless audio link from a bag or cart system to cameras and as a portable IFB transmitter paired with the Duet digital wireless M2R receiver packs. The DCHT accepts two channels of mic or line level analog signals or an AES digital signal from a mixer and transmits to the receiver or receivers in a purely digital format. The digital architecture of the new DCHT is a third-generation design with specially developed, high-efficiency circuitry for extended operating time on two AA batteries.
The DCHT can tune across the available UHF TV band from 470.00 to 607.950 MHz (470-614 MHz for export versions) in 100 kHz or 25 kHz steps, offering more than 6000 frequencies. The RF output can be set to 10, 25 or 50 mW, thus providing flexibility in terms of operating range for the intended application. The digital architecture allows for AES256-CTR encryption for applications where content security is a concern.

Below is a link to the current firmware update file for the Digital Camera Hop Series products – DCHR receiver and DCHT transmitter. This is a zip file, after downloading extract it into a temporary folder. Use the Wireless Designer™ program to update firmware, instructions are found here.
Note: This is a link to the Wireless Designer firmware update file, which bundles the latest firmware for multiple products. Wireless Designer will automatically choose the right firmware images from the file. To update firmware in the DCHR receiver, Wireless Designer version 2.0.27 (Windows) or 2.0.22 (macOS) or higher is required.
DCHT versions 1.10 and higher work with M2R receivers using either 2.x or 3.x firmware, while DCHT versions 1.05 and lower work only with M2R receivers using 2.x firmware. All DCHT firmware versions work with the DCHR receiver.

Notably, the “Compat” page has moved to the top level menu, and the IR sync and encryption functions are located in the “IR&Key” menu. Also, the M2R submenu is removed, and functions previously located there have been moved to other submenus.
- The DCHT now supports Tuning Groups and is able to accept them via IR from a compatible receiver such as the DCR822.
- The two channel encrypted mode has been renamed from DCH(X) to DCHX.
- The default compatibility mode is now DCHX.
- The DCHT now conforms to Lectrosonics’s new 2-way IR Universal Sync Protocol, meaning that now or soon, it will be able to perform the four basic IR sync operations (“Send Freq”, “Send All”, “Get Freq” and “Get All”) with any other 2-way IR equipped Lectrosonics wireless product.
- Unused circuits in the PLL chip are now powered down, for slightly improved battery life.
