Record & Transmit Update

Wireless audio transmitters and receivers with REC button and signal tower

Firmware updates are now available for users outside the United States to allow for simultaneous recording and transmitting in certain transmitter models: DBSM, DBSMD, DPR, DPR-A, SMWB, and SMDWB. Units shipped to non-US markets after August 26, 2025 will already have the firmware installed.

Digital transmitter models DPR, DPR-A, DBSM, and DBSMD that support timecode jam sync will disable timecode when recording and transmitting simultaneously. Digital Hybrid Wireless® models SMWB and SMDWB do not support timecode.

Users outside the US or Canada already owning these models with /X, /E01, /E06, and /E09 export identifiers can download updated firmware for installation in the field. Files and precise instructions for performing the upgrade will be available by following the below links.

Please note: these instructions must be followed exactly. Attempting to bypass steps or load the incorrect firmware into a unit may result in the unit not functioning properly. If this occurs, we can help, but it will be at the unit owner’s expense, including shipping costs both ways.

Users with existing units in Canada will be required to send their units, at their own expense, to the Lectrosonics Canada office in Toronto for the upgrade. To arrange for this, please contact our Toronto office at +1 416-596-2202 or service.canada@lectrosonics.com.

If you are located outside of the United States or Canada, and your transmitter’s model number does not include E01, E06, or X, please email service.repair@lectrosonics.com or call +1 505 892-4501 for more details.

US users with these transmitter models are not eligible for the feature upgrade at this time.

Please be aware that attempts to load firmware for non-US markets into US models may result in units becoming inoperable (i.e., “bricking”). Additionally, non-US firmware could make operating frequencies available that are not permitted by the FCC. Inoperable units can be repaired, at the owner’s expense.

If you have any concerns about this process, we’ve made an update “Wizard” to guide you through the steps: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/lectrosonics_upgrade_wizard
