The M2T half-rack transmitter houses two stereo transmitters to provide two stereo audio channels, and for up to four mono audio channels in a half-rack space. The audio inputs can be individually configured to be analog or Dante compatible. The analog input connectors are full-size XLR/TRS combo types for balanced line-level analog signals while the input preamp circuits use a special balanced amplifier with very high common mode rejection to minimize hum and noise. A Danteâ„¢ Ultimoâ„¢ interface via dual RJ45 connectors accepts Dante networked audio inputs and can daisy chain the digital stream to additional units via CAT6 cables. An additional RJ45 jack provides an Ethernet connection for programming and control via Wireless Designerâ„¢ software and a USB jack on the front panel allows for firmware updates. The transmitter features a full color, backlit LCD for high visibility in any environment, while the chassis is all-metal and can be racked singly or in pairs using included rack mount hardware.

Below is a link to the current firmware update file for the Duet System – M2T transmitter and M2R receiver, plus the DCHT portable transmitter. This is a zip file, after downloading extract it into a temporary folder. Use the Wireless Designerâ„¢ program to update firmware, instructions are found here.
Note:Â This is a link to the Wireless Designer firmware update file, which bundles the latest firmware for multiple products. Wireless Designer will automatically choose the right firmware images from the file.
In the past, there were two firmware choices offering either unencrypted digital transmission (“DUET” mode) or AES-256 encrypted digital transmission (“DCHX” mode). The original unencrypted mode firmware was the version 2.x series, and the new encrypted mode firmware was the version 3.x series. If encrypted mode firmware is installed into M2T or M2R units, they are identified in Wireless Designer as M2T-X and M2R-X to indicate that they are operating in encrypted transmission mode.
This has changed! Now both encrypted and unencrypted modes are contained in a single firmware load starting with M2T version 4.0.01. In this version, a new compatibility mode setting exists with two options, “DCHX” (encrypted) and “DUET” (unencrypted). Both compatibility modes are already available in the M2RA. Note: With M2T version 4.0.01 firmware installed, Wireless Designer version 2.1.01 or higher is required.

M2T v4.0.05 (SUPER)/v6.00 (FPGA, H/W v0 & v1)/v7.01 (FPGA, H/W v2 & v3)
- Fixed bug in FPGA v7.00 causing unnecessarily high distortion in the Dante audio input path (only). FPGA v6.00 was not affected.
WD Firmware Update v26Jul2024
M2T v4.0.05 (SUPER)/v6.00 (FPGA, H/W v0 & v1)/v7.00 (FPGA, H/W v2 & v3)
- Added keypad shortcut for the “Sync Freq only” IR sync function. Press the A2 button to send the frequency from TX 1. Press the B2 button to send the frequency from TX 1.
- Corrected the color schemes of submenu pages which didn’t conform to the color scheme of the menu option associated with the page.
- Fixed bug where “shared” keys could not be *received* via an IR sync operation.
WD Firmware Update v23Apr2024
M2T v4.0.03 (SUPER)/v6.00 (FPGA, H/W v0 & v1)/v7.00 (FPGA, H/W v2 & v3)
- Now supports the encrypted compatibility mode previously available only in the separate M2T-X firmware load. A compatibility mode setting was added with 2 options, “DCHX” and “DUET”.
- Flexlist entries now include an optional compatibility mode setting. This allows a Flexlist to include entries for receivers operating in differing compatibility modes.
- Now supports transfer of all Duet system parameters when using IR to sync settings with the M2RA.
- Now supports using Wireless Designer to send FlexLists to M2R and M2RA receivers via the M2T’s IR port. Requires Wireless Designer version 2.1.01 or higher.
- IR sync timeouts are increased to accommodate devices which are slow to respond.

WD Firmware Update v20May2022
M2T v2.2.06 (SUPER)/v2.02 (FPGA, H/W v0 & v1)/v4.00 (FPGA, H/W v2)
- Allow network initialization to run indefinitely instead of giving up after four seconds and never trying again. Permits device to be booted before network is available rather than requiring power sequencing.
- Add new command “freqconfwarn” which can be used to enable or disable the frequency conflict warning popup on the front panel display when the separation of the two carriers is less than 400 kHz. Set to “0” to disable the warning and “1” to enable it.

WD Firmware Update v08Nov2018
M2T v2.0.01 (SUPER)/v2.00 (FPGA)
- Switched to new high-resolution audio format which delivers superior performance. This new format is NOT compatible with the original Duet format. If this version is used, all components of the Duet system, M2T and M2R, must be upgraded for interoperability. Alternatively, newer components may be downgraded to v1.x firmware for use with older components if desired.
- Create button-combination shortcut on main page for RF carrier enable/disable. See the manual for details.

- Improved SINAD of headphone monitor output at lower output levels.
WD Firmware Update v25Jan2018
M2T v1.0.03 (SUPER)/v1.01 (FPGA)
- Revise “SYNC FLEXLIST” feature. The user is now prompted to choose 1 of 3 options:
- “Stereo Mix”. When chosen, the current receiver settings are sent “as is”, except that the mix mode is forced to Stereo.
- “Mono Ch. 1 Only”. When chosen, the current receiver settings are sent “as is”, except that the mix mode is forced to Mono Ch. 1.
- “Mono Ch. 2 Only”. When chosen, the current receiver settings are sent as is, except that the mix mode is forced to Mono Ch. 2.
- Add a “Quick Sync” function to the main page. This allows the user to sync an M2R rapidly by means of a long (1 sec) press of one of the channel select buttons (A1, A2, A3, A4) on the front panel. Two sync modes are available: “SYNC ALL” and “SPLIT MONO”. The mode is selected from the “FRONT PANEL SETUP” menu, which is expanded to include a new item name “QUICK SYNC MODE”. This item offers a pair of radio buttons to choose the mode.
- In SYNC ALL mode, a long press of either the A1 or A2 buttons sends all RX1 settings. A long press of either the B1 or B2 buttons sends all RX2 settings.
- In SPLIT MONO mode, a long press of the A1 button sends all RX1 settings with the mix mode forced to Mono Ch. 1. A long press of the A2 buttons sends all RX1 settings with the mix mode forced to Mono Ch. 2. A long press of the B1 button sends all RX2 settings with the mix mode forced to Mono Ch. 1, and a long press of the B2 button sends all RX2 settings with the mix mode forced to Mono Ch. 2.
