Assembler – Day Shift

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general supervision performs a wide variety of tasks which include identifying printed circuit board components, the ability to assemble the majority of printed circuit boards, making quality solder connections, clipping leads, using a wide variety of tools and equipment and consistently meeting assembly standards while maintaining high quality level.  Assignments also include assembling meter boards, cords, cables and microphones.

Although the above is typical of the duties and responsibilities normally performed, additional duties and responsibilities requiring essentially the same skills, knowledge and dexterity may be required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent required.  At least two years of directly related mechanical printed circuit board assembly experience required. 

MACHINES, EQUIPMENT & TOOLS NORMALLY USED

Assembly jigs and fixtures, solder iron, pot & sucker, solder and solder flux, power drill, arbor press, coil winding machine, heat/glue gun, caulking gun, voltmeter, vise, tie wrap gun, rivet gun, air hose, dremel, tap, wrenches, wire strippers, screwdriver, nut driver, crimper, reamer, pliers, wire cutters, resistor bender and numerous other related mechanical assembly tools, supplies and equipment.  Approved safety glasses, regular or prescription eye glasses and NIOSH/MSHA approved dust/fume respirator (nose and mouth) are required in accordance with company policy and with applicable State and Federal regulations.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Normal factory conditions. Tasks require sitting for prolonged periods, walking, carrying and some lifting.
